Although these things happen, it has been our experience that very few get approved.  The lenders make it as difficult as possible to get things done.

Don't totally depend on this.  If you are trying to save your house, consult with a good attorney and be ready to do what he advises.  If the modification comes through, great.  If not, you still have another option.
